ABOUT ME Welcome to the final months of my graduate program. Here, I plan to share my mentorship experiences with you over the course of a few months. But first, I’d like to share a few interesting facts about myself. For starters, my name is Drameka Griggs, but most people call me “MeMe” or simply “Griggs.” I am from Atlanta, Georgia where I currently reside. Prior to enrolling in Tiffin’s MBA program, I was a star collegiate athlete on the DI and DII level (women’s basketball). During my tenure at Clayton State University (2010-2013), I was an All-American (2013), a National Champion (2011), Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year (2013), Southeast Region Player of the Year (2013), 4x Player of the Week (2012-2013), Peach Belt Conference Tournament MVP (2013), ranked 2nd All-Time in scoring, and hold the scoring record for scoring in a single season (657). During my three-year tenure as a student-athlete, my overall record was 97-7. After completing my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, I was invited to try out for Atlanta’s WNBA team, the Atlanta Dream. Instead, I decided to pursue a career in law enforcement, where I policed for two separate cities over a three-year period. Sports has always been my first love and passion, so I gradually made my way back by pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management. Currently, I teach Math 180 at a middle school in Clayton County, Georgia, and work as a Game Day Ambassador for the Atlanta Gladiators, which is a minor league hockey team. My personal goal is to one day become an athletic director for a college or university.
